books I read this month

Books I Read in September 2024

Didn’t have a ton of luck this month! Lots of starting books and not finishing them and a few of these were a slog.

Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah (wild)

After You’ve Gone by Margot Hunt (not bad)

An Inconvenient Woman by Stéphanie Buelens (solid)

Kill Joy: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #0.5 by Holly Jackson (cute)

Coram House by Bailey Seybolt (promising but uneven)

The Eyes Are the Best Part by Monika Kim (uneven and a little rushed at the end)

Bright and Deadly Things by Lexie Elliott (interesting setting and not bad mystery)

Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty (fun concept)

The Champions by Kara Thomas (not as good as The Cheerleaders)

We Need No Wings by Ann Dávila Cardinal (ok but everything came so easily for her it was strange)

We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer (fun idea but choppy)

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson (ok)

Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson (better than the first)

Under Her Spell by K.L. Cerra (oddly slow)

Our Kind of Game by Johanna Copeland (good until the end)

Someone in the Attic by Andrea Mara (entertaining and I have never seen a book that so throughly wraps up what happens to every character down to the pet bunny)

The Editor: How Publishing Legend Judith Jones Shaped Culture in America by Sara B. Franklin (faltered at the end)

The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop (she seems fun)

Slow Horses by Mick Herron (a lot like the show)

So Thirsty by Rachel Harrison (bad)
