books I read this month

Everything I Read in November 2024

Sort of a slow month! Only 20 books. I had a few duds that slowed me down and my husband had surgery which derails life a bit even though it went well.

Joe Country by Mick Herron (high body count!)

The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins (interesting)

The Catch by Mick Herron (a little slow)

Brothers by Alex Van Halen (interesting! I didn’t know about it really about them)

Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret by Benjamin Stevenson (ok)

Sonny Boy by Al Pacino (very charming!)

Pearl by Siân Hughes (sad)

Slough House by Mick Herron (lots going on)

Bad Actors by Mick Herron (great Shirley book)

Standing by the Wall by Mick Herron (Merry Christmas, Roddy!)

The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette’s by Hanna Alkaf (enjoyed the setting but the plot was a little uneven)

I’m Laughing Because I’m Crying: A Memoir by Youngmi Mayer (hard to read, I had no idea who her ex husband is and I wonder about why she hasn’t seen her sister but kept other abusive family around)

How to Make Herself Agreeable to Everyone by Cameron Russell (could not relate less)

The Undercurrent by Sarah Sawyer (enjoyable!)

From Under the Truck: A Memoir by Josh Brolin (ok, Barbra is a “singer”)

The Devil at His Elbow: Alex Murdaugh and the Fall of a Southern Dynasty by Valerie Bauerlein
(would have been better if she interviewed anyone and fleshed out the background a little more)

Into the Water by Paula Hawkins (I thought I had read this but maybe not? It was solid)

Cher: The Memoir, Part One by Cher (interesting)

Taste: My Life Through Food by Stanley Tucci (no jokes about his wife but why does everything think he is charming?!?)

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (also thought I read this but don’t see it logged? Not bad)
