Everything I Read in April 2025

The Death of Us: A Novel by Abigail Dean (sad but good)

The Locked Ward by Sarah Pekkanen (eh)

Boat Baby: A Memoir by Vicky Nguyen (I had no idea who this woman was going in but her story was interesting)

Unshrunk: A Story of Psychiatric Treatment Resistance by Laura Delano (interesting)

What We Left Unsaid by Winnie M Li (kind of flat)

The Wasp Trap by Mark Edwards (interesting setting of the dot com boom but in England)

The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road by E.A. Hanks (odd)

A Lesson In Dying by Ann Cleeves (ok)

The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner (not great)

The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty (I read this years ago and it seemed dated then, listened to the audio book because of the show that’s out now and I wonder if they made changes)

Make Me Famous by Maud Ventura with Gretchen Schmid (Translator) (odious woman, sly writing)

I Killed Zoe Spanos by Kit Frick (fun)

Hidden in Shadows by Viveca Sten with Marlaine Delargy (Translator) (better than the first one)

Care and Feeding by Laurie Woolever (I didn’t know what to expect. It’s amazing she was able to keep any jobs)

Count My Lies by Sophie Stava (fun but some timeline issues)

Matriarch: A Memoir by Tina Knowles (mostly about her childhood which was interesting)

The Seven O’Clock Club by Amelia Ireland (yuck)

I Leave It Up to You by Jinwoo Chong (fun)

Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism by Sarah Wynn-Williams (I would have stopped speaking to my parents after the shark attack)

The Debutantes by Olivia Worley (cute setting)
