Everything I Read in May 2005

I listened to the Jane Harper Aaron Falk books because we watched both movies they made of the first two in the series. I had read them back when they came out in the US. I’m doing my university from grad school’s adult summer reading program (they sent us stickers and a coloring page!) so a few books were to fit those prompts—one from the year the university opened, a suggestion from an alumnus and a book with a main character with a disability. Also unusual was the number of male authors!

Ladykiller by Katherine Wood (oddly flat)

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry (ok but five foot nine is not that tall)

The Strange Case of Jane O. by Karen Thompson Walker (interesting! I realized after I had read her other books and liked them)

Your Truth or Mine? byTrisha Sakhlecha (ok)

How Lucky   By Will Leitch (fun)

Swept Away by Beth O’Leary (cute, light but flat twist)

The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers with Alex Kiester (didn’t like the twist)

Shopgirls: A Novel by Jessica Anya Blau (eh)

I See You by Clare Mackintosh (finally available in the US! Not bad!)

Big Bad Wool by Leonie Swann with Amy Bojang (Translator) (cute)

Third Girl by Agatha Christie (fun, I love the sixties ones)

Vanish by Shelley Burr (this should be a tv series)

Daughter of the Merciful Deep by Leslye Penelope (good idea)

Can You See Me Now by Trisha Sakhlecha (ok)

The Dry by Jane Harper (good)

Force of Nature by Jane Harper (good)

The Burning Library: A Novel by Gilly Macmillan (unexpectedly odd but fun)

Murder in the Dollhouse: The Jennifer Dulos Story by Rich Cohen (more interesting than expected, lots of asides and details)

The True Happiness Company: A Memoir by Veena Dinavahi (takes place near me! She has not dealt with the husband at all)

Exiles by Jane Harper (good)

Who Knew  by Barry Diller (who knew, indeed! Great mix of old Hollywood ending and today)

The Summer Guests by Tess Gerritsen (fun!)
