Everything I Read in January 2026

New year, new books!

The White Darkness by David Grann (interesting)

The Castaways by Lucy Clarke (uneven)

Dark Is When the Devil Comes by Daisy Pearce (creepy without being too gross)

The Deepest Lake by Andromeda Romano-Lax (enjoyed this!)

Something in the Walls by Daisy Pearce (solid)

Forget Me Not by Stacy Willingham (eh)

The Silence by Daisy Pierce (solid)

Absent in the Spring by Mary Westmacott aka Agatha Christie (fun character study)

What Boys Learn by Andromeda Romano-Lax (not as great as the other one)

The Daughter by Jane Shemilt (eh)

It Should Have Been You by Andrea Mara (not bad)

Baby Doll by Hollie Overton (eh. The show was a little better)

Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough (lol)

A Box Full of Darkness by Simone St. James (good!)

I Don’t Wish You Well by Jumata Emill (spelt out even for YA)

The Missing by Daisy Pearce (solid)

My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney (convoluted even for her)

Killing Stella by Marlen Haushofer with Shaun Whiteside (Translator) (going in I didn’t realize it was the 1950s. Interesting character study/family dynamics)

Two Women Living Together by Kim Hana and Hwang Sunwoo with Gene Png (Translator) (interesting peek into life in Korea)

The Sister by Valerie Keogh (how could she keep this up??)
